Farkhanda & Shohrat Bokhari Welfare Society (FSBWS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to humanitarian, social, and animal welfare.
What We Do
We work to protect and support vulnerable communities, promote Urdu literature, and rescue stray animals. Our initiatives include legal aid, education, community welfare, and medical assistance.
How We Do It
Through fundraising, volunteer efforts, and advocacy, we provide shelter, medical care, and legal support. We also organize events, awareness campaigns, and rescue missions to create a compassionate and just society.
Our Mission
Our mission is to foster a just, compassionate, and progressive society by promoting religious and political harmony, advancing medical research—especially in the fight against Dengue fever—preserving and celebrating Urdu literature, providing legal aid to destitute imprisoned female prisoners, and advocating for the welfare and humane treatment of animals.
Through collaboration, education, and support, we strive to create a community where every individual, regardless of background, has access to justice, healthcare, and cultural enrichment while ensuring the well-being of all living beings.

FSBWS Team Members
Prof Ali Bokhari is a Pediatrician working in UK. He is also a professor of medical education and has a special interest in children’s heart conditions. His interest in medical research will help our welfare association make an impact on the medical research challenges in Pakistan.
I am Masooma Bokhari, a Senior Urdu Teacher and Vice President of FSWS. I work to promote Urdu literature and create a strong literary community in Pakistan. My goal is to support emerging writers and poets while preserving our cultural heritage.
I have been a barrister since 1995 and an advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. I am dedicated to promoting religious and political harmony, democracy, and legal reforms. I also work to protect women’s rights and rescue animals by providing care and shelter.
As an Advocate of the High Court and Media Coordinator, I am passionate about justice for the voiceless, including women, children, and stray animals. I work to rescue and care for animals while advocating for stronger legal protections. My goal is to create a society that ensures their safety, shelter, and well-being.
I am Maryam Naqvi, a Social Policy Analyst and General Secretary of FSWS. I work to address social issues through innovative solutions and community engagement. My goal is to empower marginalized communities and drive meaningful social change in Pakistan.
I am Turab Haider, a lawyer and member of FSWS, dedicated to providing legal aid to imprisoned women. I actively support community service, fundraising, and advocacy efforts. My goal is to contribute to FSWS initiatives that promote justice and social welfare.
I am Mubashar Hussain, Advocate High Court and Secretary of FSWS, dedicated to protecting neglected and homeless animals. I handle the society’s legal affairs and advocate for their rights. My goal is to ensure their safety, prevent cruelty, and raise awareness.
I’m so proud to be involved in this society and carrying my grandparents’ legacy forward. With a background in law and human rights, I’m passionate about all of the causes we cover, and hope to contribute my skills and knowledge in any way I can
Aim And Objectives Of FSBWS
1. Helping Those in Need
We work to create awareness and support for people who are struggling, ensuring they receive the help they need.
2. Free Legal Aid for Women
We provide free legal assistance to imprisoned women, helping them get justice and fair treatment.
3. Financial Support for the Poor
We offer financial help to needy individuals and families so they can manage their basic needs at home.
4. Free Education for Deserving Students
We provide free education and scholarships to intelligent and hardworking students who cannot afford school.
5. Schools for Poor Children
We set up educational institutes to ensure that underprivileged children receive a quality education.
6. Higher Education Opportunities
We support students in continuing their studies, especially hardworking students and those affected by child labor.
7. Promoting Literature and Poetry
We encourage the love for literature and poetry to inspire creativity and cultural growth.
8. Free Medical Facilities
We establish free medical centers, hospitals, and maternity homes for those who cannot afford healthcare.
9. Shelter for Humans and Animals
We provide shelter for the homeless and care for animals, ensuring they have food, safety, and protection.
10. Rebuilding Lives After Disasters
We help people rebuild their homes and offer financial aid to those affected by disasters.
Farkhanda Bokhari
Only female political activist who forcefully removed from Pakistan by gen Zia ul haq with handcuffs in a PIA hijacking exchange. She was brutally tortured in Lahore fort . She spent 8 years in exile. A close ally of mohterma benazir Bhutto shaheed . She was awarded pride of performance in 2024 on her autobiography “yeh bazi Ishq ki bazi hai”. She passed away on 21 October 2021 as a result of dengue.
Both are buried in Miani sb grave yard in Lahore next to each other
Prof Syed Shohrat Bokhari
A prominent Urdu poet and educationalist. His several poetry books were published as a kulyat in 2024. His prose khoye huwaon ki justajoo was a best seller. Prof bokhari performed extensive work in Farsi on iqbalyat . He served as director of iqbal academy. He passed away 11 October 2001.
